Lalit Narayan Mithila University(LNMU), Darbhanga - The Lalit Narayan Mithila University is a public university in the state Bihar, India. It is ranked one in Bihar and as per the 2021 ranking it ranks 92th in India. One of the most beautiful LNM University Kameshwaranagar, Darbhanga was established on August 5, 1972 by an Ordinance of the Government of Bihar subsequently enacted through legislatures. The year 1968 proved as a landmark year in the history of the University when a U.G.C. team visited Darbhanga in order to explore the possibility of establishing a multi-faculty University here. It took time but finally we had Mithila University which was also the university for all the colleges of Seemanchal and Kosi Zone. Later, Mithila University amended and it was renamed as Lalit Narayan Mithila University(LNMU). Right now this university has total 67 colleges.
